Planning a destination wedding is a very personal experience. While experience and expertise matter, so does feeling comfortable with the person you’re trusting to guide you through it. After all, you’re sharing ideas, questions, excitement, and the occasional stress that comes with planning something meaningful from afar.

Over time, I’ve found that getting to know each other, even in small, casual ways, makes the planning process feel lighter and more natural. When there’s an easy connection, conversations flow better, questions feel easier to ask, and the entire experience becomes less about pressure and more about enjoyment.

You can see how these experiences and perspectives come together in real celebrations, like this destination wedding at Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall.

So beyond the logistics, timelines, and travel details, here are a few things you might not know about me.

Aside from planning and coordinating your destination wedding plans, there are little fun tidbits that may come as a surprise (or not) to many of my clients.

A few things about Pamela Walker

1. I have my motorcycle license and drive a Vespa. Of course, I may resort to the usual four-wheel vehicle during Calgary’s brisk winters, but Vespas are the best during the summer.

2. I’m a frequent escort for doggies from destinations I travel to. I often go to the high kill shelters in the place I’m visiting and bring them back to Canada to find forever homes.

3. I’m a huge adrenaline junkie! I bungee-jumped the world’s highest bridge jump (216 metres), skydived, zip-lined, and swam with whale sharks.

4. There’s a reason why I understand the process of planning destination weddings so well. I was once a destination wedding bride myself.

5. One of my biggest pet peeves are passengers who ignore common decency on flights. In fact, some of my rants were published on Passenger Shaming. I seem to see a lot of bare feet on aircraft.

6. I have four tattoos and am currently contemplating my fifth. Call it a cliche, but getting tattoos can be addictive.

7. Some of my favourite destinations are far from your traditional all-inclusive destination circuit. South Africa, Kenya & Florence, Italy were some of the best destinations I’ve had the pleasure of exploring.

8. Shopping and being tall is a challenge. I am 6’1″ and have always had a hard time finding pants long enough.

9. Despite having a general interest in golf, I have played and achieved a hole in one.

10. Iceland is definitely at the top of my travel bucket list.

So there you have it — a few things you might not have known about me. If you feel inclined, I’d love to hear a little about you as well. You’re always welcome to get in touch.
